[Typhoon Melor]

Oh Typhoon Alley.....yep Okinawa is in Typhoon Alley. Sometimes it is fun BUT most times Typhoons just ruin fun plans and destroy the island. I've had a few wicked fun typhoon parties while living in Okinawa. Of course there was some tequilla, food, and friends at these events.

Currently there are 2 active NW Pacific systems. Parma, which is heading for Manilla in the Phillipines; and Melor which is heading straight for OKINAWA! On normal circumstances I would look forward to a typhoon. It brings people together in a really special way (fear of nature) and often brings days off from work!!!! This time around it sucks!!! As A and I are heading to Tokyo this Wednesday to take care of 2 very important final steps in our immigration process. Typhoon Melor is expected to hit Okinawa on Tuesday or Wednesday...AWESOME ! NOT SO MUCH !!!!!!!!! I am crossing my fingers and hoping that we get out of Okinawa before OR after Typhoon Melor hits Okinawa........ or maybe it will change directions and go beat up Taiwan.....I don't want to put any ill-wishes on any other countries or people BUT we NEED to get to Tokyo next week by Friday...
